Astoria, Queens, NYC has been the spiritual home of filmmaking for 100 years.
The Kaufman Astoria Studios was at the forefront of American filmmaking from it's inception in 1920 — influencing and innovating the industry into the powerhouse it is today.
The Museum of the Moving Image was established in 1988 to showcase and exhibit the studio's talent. Celebrating their 100th year, they sought a rebrand that expresses that creative ingenuity.
The logo mark was designed to be as adaptable as possible, fitting reponsively to a variety of formats and media. The logo takes inspiration from light waveforms to the movement of spotlights of a filmset.
